Yesterday, we did an awesome science eperiment on convection currents. Ms. Fennell poured hot (red) and cold (green)water into two little jars, wrapped them in foil, tied them with rubber bands, poked two holes in them, and put them in a tank that had room temperature (clear) water in it. After the jars were set in the tank, the hot water started to rise because it was less dense and the cold water stayed at the bottom because it was more dense than the room temperature water. 
While we were reading our science book, I looked back and saw that the hot water started to sink and the cold water started to rise due to convection currents. Today when we entered the classroom we saw the same tank that looked all bright red and green looking like a very brown green dirty fish tank that hasn’t been cleaned for about a month. The water in the tank now has the same temperature and density, so the whole tank has the same color, which is dirty brown green. 
This experiment demonstrated the convection currents that occur in our atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere.
Truly I think that convection currents are amazing!
